57Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should show it, that they might take him.
The religious leaders have had enough, they want Jesus taken into custody and killed. John 18:11-12
11Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it? 12Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him, 13And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year.
John 19:30
30When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
The religious leader capture Jesus and then have the Romans crucified Him. Jesus dies on the cross. In their hearts, the religious leader wanted Jesus dead, so Jesus will act out (or prophecy by action) what will happen in the future.
The actions of the religious leaders is fulfilled with the capture and death of Jesus.

This story is prophesying the death of Jesus.
