Exodus 15:22-27
The bitter waters of Marah, murmuring, the water is stirred by a tree thrown in, and they drink. God says, keep all my statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

John 5:10-15
Healed man walks and the Jewish leaders murmur against him because he is not listening to God’s word. Jesus comes back to him and says, you are whole, sin no more or a worse thing will come on you.

Exodus 15:22-27
22So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water. 23And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah. 24And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? 25And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD showed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,

26And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

27And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.

After walking away from the water at the Red Sea, the Israelites find themselves at another body of water, this time it is bitter drinking water. They complain and God tells Moses to “stir” the water by casting a tree into the water.

God then tells them to do what He says and no diseases will come upon them.

John 5:10-15
10The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed. 11He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk. 12Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk? 13And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place. 14Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. 15The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.

After walking, the 38 year lame man has to retell the story of getting healed while waiting by the pool for the water to stir. Jesus tell him to take up his bed and walk.

Jesus comes back to him and tells him to sin no more or something worse will come on him.

The reverse takes place.

The “non-walking” man get healed and walks, he then hast to retell the story of his healing at the water and then picking up his mat and walking. The walking Israelites get fresh water by casting a tree in the water (stir the water).

The walking healed man is grateful and the walking Israelites are murmuring.

Then both are told to not sin or something worst will happen to them.
